Gulf Organisation for Research and Development and Prometric Sign Multi-Year Agreement for Computer-Based Delivery of GSAS Certification


As part of its mission to promote the education and training in sustainability practices, the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) will deliver the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), conveniently and securely over Internet-based format, in collaboration with Prometric Inc., a trusted provider of market-leading test development and delivery solutions.


Candidates can conveniently register and schedule their Internet-based exams online, available on the GORD website.

The multi-year agreement between GORD and Prometric provides candidates with flexibility, a fair testing experience, eliminates geographic boundaries and is on par with the highest international standards.

Aimed at individuals with backgrounds in architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering and sciences disciplines the Global Sustainability Assessment System – Certified Green Professionals (GSAS-CGP) program is an ideal platform for professionals to share experiences, exchange thoughts and learn how GSAS can be implemented and applied in projects of different typologies and scales.

GORD is a not-for-profit subsidiary of QATARI DIAR Real Estate Investment Company and is a fully governmental Organization located at the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). Its purpose is to promote healthy, energy and resource efficient, environmentally responsible building practices in Qatar and the entire Gulf region.

GORD, the authority for knowledge on sustainability in the Middle East Northern Africa (MENA) region, has announced the launch of the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) as the standard for excellence on sustainability in the MENA region.

Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), formerly known as Qatar Sustainability Assessment System (QSAS), is the most comprehensive sustainability rating system for the built environment in the world. The all-inclusive offerings of the system supports in assessing all types of developments starting from macro level such as master plans for cities to micro-level, such as single buildings. GSAS aims to promote sustainable practices within the framework of a globalized society.

GORD has developed four centers of excellence: GSAS Trust, GORD Academy, GORD Institute, and GORD Consult. The four centers of excellence aim to support the GORD’s mission to create a sustainable, smart and healthy environment for living.

GSAS Trust
Responsible for the development of sustainable building standards and certifications — during design, construction and operation phases and all other future certification standards.

GORD Academy
Responsible for offering memberships, training and development programs designed to meet the educational needs of professionals and practitioners working in the construction industry.

GORD Institute
Conducts scientific research programs in partnerships with local and international organizations, from both academic and applied research perspectives, to advance knowledge and investigate new approaches to enhance the sustainable built environment.
