Society of Actuaries and Prometric Renew Computer-Based Testing Partnership


More than 50,000 Exams Expected per Year for Global ASA, CERA and FSA Designations under New Multi-Year Agreement

SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS: The Society of Actuaries (SOA), the largest professional organization dedicated to serving actuarial members, and Prometric, trusted provider of market-leading test development and delivery solutions, have announced a multi-year contract renewal for the delivery of more than 50,000 exams per year and associated test development for the SOA’s three prestigious designations:

ASA: Associate of the Society of Actuaries–Requirements

CERA: Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst–Requirements (delivered in partnership with the CERA Global Association)

FSA: Fellow of the Society of Actuaries–Requirements

“The SOA, with support from Prometric dating back to 2005, has administered more than 250,000 exams under our prior agreement, helping more actuaries every year gain knowledge and secure important roles in finance, healthcare, life insurance and regulatory support. We are also adding important new education in general, or property-casualty, insurance and offering our capabilities across all actuarial disciplines,” said Greg Heidrich, executive director of the SOA. “Our renewed testing partnership ensures a continuation and enhancement of our mission to serve actuarial education, research and professional designation for years to come.”

Under the new five year agreement and ongoing partnership, the SOA and Prometric will continue evolving the global computer-based testing program serving the ASA, CERA and FSA programs. Testing program advancements have provided cumulative improvements to shorten certification time for actuarial Fellows and Associates. Examples of computer-based testing advantages include more frequent testing administration windows and faster time for providing reliable exam scoring.
